Truck Dispatcher

The Salt Depot is now hiring for a full-time, hands-on truck Dispatcher to run and operate a fleet of 40 trucks in the heavy haulage industry.

Requirements & Responsibilities: 

​

• Responsible for coordinating and scheduling fleet up to 40 trucks per day

• Must be knowledgeable on calculating haulage rates

• Responsible for booking and negotiating rates with 3rd party brokers 

• Must have good time management skills and knowledge on keeping fleet moving (picking up or fitting in last minute or time sensitive jobs)

• Responsible for completing administrative duties:

  • receiving orders 

  • scheduling pickups

  • prepare packing slips

  • organizing deliveries

  • completing daily reports and run sheets

•  Must be able to communicate effectively with drivers and work collectively with staff

• Will be required to work closely with the in-house mechanic shop to ensure trucks are operational

• Computer skills is necessary.

• Ability to read, write and speak English.

• Mechanically inclined

• Available to drive a truck if when and if needed is a bonus. - AZ Driver license considered an asset

• Must be willing and able to work longer hours during the winter season 

  • Working hours may vary depending on the season. Normal hours are 6am-4pm (approx.), but during the winter hours will be longer depending on orders.
